Obedience Training

Obedience is the seed of any great
retriever. All basic obedience must
perform flawlessly. This is the
foundation to all of our training. Also it
makes a dog much more enjoyable.

Force Fetching

Force Fetching is not for everyone and
I recommend having someone that has
force fetched multiple dogs do the
training. Each dog reacts to pressure
in different ways and experience is the
only way to be consistent. For the past
8 years I have force fetched my
personal dogs and continuously
trained others. This has become a
specialty of mine.

In the end, you will have a retriever
that retrieves to hand and a retriever
you can count on every time!

Introduction to Gun Fire!

A common problem with new dog
owners and gun dogs is, the owner
thinks they have a gun dog so they
take out the poor puppy and start
shooting their shot guns over the
puppy's heads. This is about the worst
way to introduce a pup to gun fire, and
a sure fire way to make a puppy gun
shy. I use a system that most puppies
won't even notice that you're shooting
a gun. In most cases they will actually
get excited when they see you bringing
out the guns.

Hand Signals

Okay you just shot the biggest
pheasant you have ever seen, but
your dog didn't see it fall. How do you
guide your dog to the bird?

Hand signals are a ton of fun. If you
have ever been around a good
handling dog you know how much fun
it is to watch them work.

Hand signals are not just for the Field
Trial people or Hunt tests people.
There is nothing cooler then directing
your dog to a downed bird without
even leaving the blind.

So whether you want to compete with
your dog and or hunt with your dog, it
gives you one more tool you can have
in the field. "Who doesn't like more
gadgets!"

Boat Manners and Experience.

Nothing is more dangerous then a dog
that doesn't have manners on a boat!
Whether you hunt alone or with others,
a retriever out of control is as
dangerous as a loaded gun with no
safety!

Also, retrieving can be difficult for dogs
off of a boat. This is a must have for
boat owners. When its 10 degrees out
is not the time to practice this. Bring
your dog to us and we will have him or
her ready when the season comes
around!
